Our Grant Researcher, Matt, has been busy collecting grant information this month to add to our directory. Here are his picks for September’s hottest grants:

Active Kids Grant

This grant aims to provide every child with the active childhood they deserve, by supplying them with the equipment they need to participate in sporting activities.

The grants will be focusing on volunteer-run grassroots and community clubs with young members aged under 20, with priority given to clubs in disadvantaged and/or rural communities.

The grants will be made to fund projects that specifically target young Australians aged under 20, by acquiring: 

  • Sporting Equipment 

  • Sporting Kit 

  • Sporting Uniforms

Country Arts Support Program (CASP)

Country Arts Support Program (CASP) is an annual small grants program and is guided by the Arts and Cultural Funding Program’s three major objectives: 

  • Grow creative leadership and programming excellence in NSW

  • Strengthen NSW arts and cultural activity that drives community and social benefits 

  • Showcase NSW as a leader for strategic arts and cultural governance and strong financial management.

The program aims to: 
Support community arts and cultural development in regional NSW through small grants that: 

  • Assist locally determined community arts and cultural activities 

  • Increase opportunities for regionally based groups to access a diverse range of arts programs 

  • Enable communities to explore and express their cultural identities 

  • Bring social and economic benefits to the community through training, employment and promotional opportunities 

  • Lead to greater awareness and appreciation of cultural diversity 

  • Increase the sustainability and resilience of regionally based community arts organisations.

Summer Healthy Sporting Club Program 2020-21

This program supports Western Australian community sporting clubs to help increase healthy food and drink options at club-run canteen, kiosk, or food service.

To apply for this funding, clubs must be competing in a recognised summer sporting competition.

With the support of the WA School Canteen Association, we will help your sports club achieve the following:

  • Increase healthy food and drink options at club run canteens, kiosks or food services 

  • Reduce sugary drinks sold at a club run canteen, kiosk or food service 

  • Reduce the promotion of unhealthy messages or brands 

  • Improve club member awareness of healthy eating choices 

  • Educate and up-skill canteen managers and staff in offering healthy food and drinks in community sporting venues.

Active Club Program

The Active Club Program helps active recreation and sports club with program and equipment funding up to and including $3,000.

To be eligible organisations must: 

  • Be a not-for-profit active recreation or sport club or community organisation whose purpose is the delivery of active recreation or sport programs and services in South Australia 

  • Be incorporated under the Associations Incorporations Act 1985 (SA) or have some other comparable legal status 

  • Have a minimum total membership base of 20 members. Total membership can include associate, social and life membership 

  • Provide a copy of the most recent certified (signed or electronically signed by the club Treasurer) or audited Statement of Financial Performance (Income and Expenditure Statement) and / or Statement of Financial Position (Balance Sheet).

Community Sport Sector Short-Term Survival Package

This initiative is part of the Victorian Government’s new Experience Economy Survival Package providing urgent support to help a range of key attractions, organisations and associations ride out the economic impacts of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic and help them reboot, rebound and recover.

The Community Sport Sector Short-term Survival Package includes $40 million for community sport organisations in two streams:

  • Stream 1 - grants for state sporting associations, regional sports assemblies and academies and other state sport and recreational bodies 
    (open until 5pm Monday 21 September 2020)

  • Stream 2 - grants of up to $2,000 are available for associations and leagues and grants of up to $1,000 are available for individual clubs and community sporting and active recreation organisations. A top-up grant of $1,000 for associations and leagues and $500 for clubs and community sporting and active recreation organisations will be provided automatically to organisations who received a grant through the first funding round of this program – you will not need to re-apply to receive this funding 
    (open until 5pm Friday 16 October 2020)
