March marks the month of new initiatives and programs for all communities. Our picks include some great national and state-based opportunities guaranteed to get your program or idea off the ground. Follow their links below to check out the submission criteria and details. 

Community Grant Project

This grant helps fund projects by Tasmanian not-for-profit organisations that add value to their community and provide opportunities for the people living in those places. Two categories are available in the program, including Innovation and Community, both of which aim to help organisations adapt and recover from the effects of COVID-19.

Those wishing to apply must be a community-serving, not-for-profit organisation that is either registered with the Australian Charities and Not-for-Profits Commission (ACNC) or is a community service organisation exempt from paying income tax. Also, organisations must be based in Tasmania.

Lendlease Foundation Community Grant Program

Is your organisation in need of funding for its community project? The Lendlease Foundation Grant, which is administered by the Community Enterprise Foundation, has several opportunities available for eligible charities and not-for-profit organisations in Australia. Funding of $10,000 will be granted to organisations that offer a clear public benefit for their community and contribute to its development. 

Successful applicants must be able to address a community need in one or more of the following Lendlease Sustainability Framework areas, including community development, diversity and inclusion, training and development, community health and wellbeing, natural environment, pollution control and climate resiliency and adaptation.

Her Sport Her Way

The Her Sport Her Way Grant Program is a great initiative by the New South Wales Government that aims to develop and deliver ways to increase the participation of women and girls in sport, on and off the field. This opportunity focuses on diversity and inclusion by exploring new ways of doing things and testing of new ideas. 

The program provides more than $2.5 million over four years to assist NSW State Sporting Organisations. Grants are available up to $50,000 and applicants may apply for multiple projects or multiple locations.

2021 Feed Appeal Grants Program

Feed Appeal invests in programs and projects that improve the lives of people experiencing hunger or food insecurity. As such, funding is available for local charities to provide them support in delivering effective and targeted food relief programs in their local community. 

Grants of up to $50,000 are available. Feed Appeal partners with community food relief organisations that attract little funding from the government and aren’t big enough to generate significant fundraising income of their own.
