Grants to Check Out in July

There’s no time like a new financial year to begin focusing on finances and thinking about budgets. The start of July provides a timely reminder to review your goals and revisit projects to see if they’re still on track.

As such, we’ve picked the hottest grants this month that are providing funding to many industries - from infrastructure to education and the arts. 

Infrastructure Grants

The NSW Government is offering grants to communities across New South Wales to support the building, renovation and fit-out of infrastructure. This funding is available for arts and cultural infrastructure, sport and recreation infrastructure, and projects that focus on assisting communities with essential infrastructure and disaster readiness. 

To be eligible for this opportunity applications must meet criteria, which includes project location, the applicant and project benefit, purpose and development status. Applications for Infrastructure Grants are submitted online.

Smartgroup Foundation Grants

The Smartgroup Foundation Grants aim to positively contribute to communities in which people live and operate. This funding focuses on projects that support animal welfare, children’s illnesses and disabilities, mental illness, children and families at risk, cancer, and environment matters. 

The Foundation recognises the many worthy causes in local communities, nationally and internationally. Grants between $5,000 to $15,000 are available to successful applicants. The Smartgroup Foundation was established in 2019 with an annual grant to be directed to certain charities with DGR Status.

Growing Stronger Communities Grants

The Heritage Bank Charitable Foundation have announced their second round of grants, which are now available and open to eligible charities. Growing Stronger Communities Grants focuses on positive and educational pathways to help at-risk children and teenagers; health care services for vulnerable Australians and families; and support for the economic wellbeing of people in regional, rural and remote communities. 

To apply, recipients must meet the following criteria of being a non-profit with DGR status, show evidence of an effective existing program, be able to demonstrate the people who will be positively impacted and have an income under $10 million.

Tucker Foundation Grants

The Tucker Foundation will be accepting grants for projects that meet the Foundation’s aims and objectives. This includes applications that support a variety of causes including the advancement of public art galleries and museums, relief of poverty and the suffering of children, protection of women from abuse, social change, protection of wildlife and habitat and the prevention of cruelty to animals. 

This opportunity has been made available through the estate of the late Albert and Barbara Tucker, as per their wishes. Grants of up to $25,000 will be considered.  Most of the funding is allocated to small scale, grassroot groups that are well placed to make a real difference.
