The Grants Hub is committed to providing information about financial support available after major disasters.

The recent floods in Australia’s southern states have been devastating for those impacted. A number of funding programs have been established to support businesses, community groups and charities affected by these flood disasters.

This list represents a small number of funding opportunities currently available. Please note: these packages may change and the support available is constantly evolving. We encourage you to reach out to funding providers directly for full details of what’s on offer.

Strengthening Rural Communities – Prepare & Recover

Supports communities in remote, rural and regional communities across Australia to implement initiatives that prevent and prepare for future climate related impacts, or recover from existing disasters through the medium to long term process.

Emergency and Disaster Funding

The James Frizelle Charitable Foundation provides relief for all types of natural disasters including support of the volunteer brigades called upon in times of need particularly during fires and floods.

Children and Young People Wellbeing Recovery Initiative

Creates programs, events and resources to help children and youth living in storm and flood impacted regions to recover, build resilience, improve wellbeing and strengthen community connections.

Funds local projects that help communities prepare for natural disasters, support long-term recovery and build resilience against future disasters and climate change.

Small Business Immediate Flood Relief Program

Supports businesses directly affected by the Victorian flood events that commenced in October 2022. There are two streams of support available under this program:

- Immediate flood relief grant
- Business Relief Service

Emergency Response Grants for Small Businesses and Primary Producers

Assists Tasmanian small businesses and primary producers with clean-up and restoration activities from the recent floods.

Community Sport Emergency Flood Assistance Program

Assists Victorian sport and active recreation organisations directly affected by the October 2022 Victorian floods. $5,000 one-off grants are available to assist in the replacement of items that have been lost, damaged or destroyed.

Essential Community Sport Assets Program

Helps NSW communities assess, repair, reconstruct and build flood resilience into sport facilities enabling normal activities to return sooner.

Supports primary producers who have been impacted by the floods and severe weather that occurred from 27 June 2022 onwards.
