As reported in our recent 2021 Grant Trends, we’re seeing some great recovery opportunities emerging for communities and those affected by disasters.

There are also many great grants available for women and emerging leaders. With that being said, we’ve picked out some exciting opportunities to pique your interest in April. Check out these funding rounds below.

Boosting Female Founders Initiative

The Boosting Female Founders Initiative provides female founders and entrepreneurs with funding to help them launch their businesses into domestic and global markets. Innovative startups are a necessity in our economy, as they bring new products and services into the market, driving local opportunities and job creation. 

This grant will help these female leaders overcome the disadvantages they may face in accessing finance and support, to further their business and grow their startups. Funding is available in two tiers based on total eligible project expenditure.

Volunteer Grants Activity

This program supports the efforts of Australian volunteers, helps community organisations support vulnerable people in volunteering efforts and encourages and increases the participation of volunteers. It starts with an Expression of Interest callout with a local Member of Parliament (MP). The MPs will nominate organisations, who will be invited to apply for funding. 

The Volunteer Grant Activity is part of the Families and Communities, which aim to strengthen relationships, support families, improve the wellbeing of children and strengthen community functions. This is a national funding opportunity supported by the Australian Government.

Active Australia Innovation Challenge

Are you ready to make your bright idea a reality? Grants of up to $10,000 are available for innovative ideas that will inspire people to be active and get moving. This grant aims to improve community participation and raise awareness of the value of physical activity for all Australians.

Supported by the Heart Foundation, this year 20 grants are available for new projects that will inspire people in schools, universities or local community groups. This is a national initiative, Applications that support people who do not meet Australia’s Physical Activity Guidelines are strongly encouraged to apply.

Disaster Recovery Payment Program

The Australian Government Disaster Recovery Payment (AGDRP) is offering monetary support to those significantly affected by the recent flood disasters. This is a lump-sum payment for those who have experienced or been injured by the floods, have lost a loved one due to the disaster, received extensive damage, destroyed property or had sewage contaminate the interior of a residence. 

Applicants must meet eligibility requirements to receive the payment. Once deemed eligible, payment can be received in two instalments. Funding amounts include $1,000 for adults and $400 for children 16-years old and younger. Full details and criteria are available in our Grants Directory.
