It’s the last month of the financial year, which means it’s a crazy time for grant writers. So many grants close at the end of June. In fact, we have 113 grants listed at The Grants Hub that are currently open and close by 30 June.
You might want to use some of my survival tips from my article on writing big grant applications to help get you through this extremely busy grants season.
Quick tip: don’t forget to give your CEO the heads up on how many applications they will need to sign off on before they hit their desk. No-one loves a last minute surprise when it comes to sign-offs.
If you’re on the hunt for a June grant, here are five of the top grant programs gaining our members’ interest:
ANZ Community Foundation
The ANZ Community Foundation (previously known as the ANZ Staff Foundation) aims to support projects run by charitable organisations which offer a direct and tangible benefit to local communities.
Focussing on some of Australia’s on-trend funding themes, the Foundation provides grants of up to $30,000 to community projects that relate to one or more of the following areas:
Improving financial wellbeing
Improving environmental sustainability
Improving housing access
Other community projects that help communities thrive.
Applications close 30 June 2019.
Better Together: Community Grants
This Tasmanian (yay!) Community Grants program partners with community-minded organisations who provide better outcomes aligned to Tassel's core foundation pillars:
Health & Wellbeing.
There are very few restrictions and no age limit for this program – everyone from children, young adults and older Australians are welcome to apply.
Applications close 16 June 2019.
Growing Good Gardens Grant
Yates Gardening and Life Education Australia are teaming up to provide this great gardening grant for young people.
Schools, pre-schools, youth, sports clubs and community groups are invited to apply for one of ten $1,000 grants to help create a garden space where kids can learn healthy habits and improve their physical and mental wellbeing.
Applications close 17 June 2019.
The Grants Hub's 2019 Grants Program
We couldn’t do a June wrap without including our own Grants Program! After the huge interest in last year’s Volunteer Support Grant, this year we have quadrupled the size of the program. We are also allowing organisations, social enterprises and small businesses/startups to apply.
For this first round of 2019, we are offering the following grants:
The Grants Hub Social Enterprise Grant - $1,000
The Grants Hub Not-for-Profit Grant - $1,000
Access Solutions National Social Enterprise (Disability) Grant - $1,000
Pursuit Advisers Gippsland Business Development Grant - $1,000
Applications close 18 June 2019.
Aurizon Community Giving Fund
Aurizon is once again providing grants up to $20,000 to communities in the areas of:
Health & Wellbeing
Heads up: grants are only available for projects that affect the immediate areas in which Aurizon operates.
Applications close 28 June 2019.
I wish you all the best with your June applications, and can’t wait to hear whether your hard work pays off! We truly love hearing from our members, so do let us know how you go.
