2019 Grants Program Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Can I submit an application on behalf of someone else?

No, the applicant who represents the incorporated body, registered social enterprise, or business for the project or initiative must apply.

Can an individual apply?

Individuals can not apply for the following grants:

  • The Grants Hub Social Enterprise Grant

  • The Grants Hub Not-for-Profit Grant

  • Access Solutions National Social Enterprise (Disability) Grant.

Applications under these categories must be from social enterprises and incorporated not for profit bodies only.

Individuals can apply for the Pursuit Advisers Gippsland Business Development Grant, if their business concept is not yet registered.

Are there geographic restrictions?

The grants are open to applicants whose work is focussed within Australia.

For the Pursuit Advisers Gippsland Business Development Grant, applicants must be based in Gippsland, Victoria.

Can our Not-for-Profit organisation, social enterprise or business submit more than one application?

No. A Not-for-Profit organisation, social enterprise or business can only apply for ONE grant for ONE project or initiative in this grants round. All applications will be deemed ineligible if multiple applications from the same applicant are received.

If an application does not complete all sections of the application form will it still be considered for the grant?

No. ALL sections of the application form must be completed. Incomplete applications will be disregarded.

Do we have to apply online?

Yes, applications must be submitted via our online application form.

We recommend drafting your application in another location, such as in Word, and then cut and pasting your responses into our online application form.

We don't have a website to include, can we use our Facebook page?

Yes, a website or Facebook page link is acceptable.

How do we create a video link for our 30 second video?

You need to provide us with a link/URL to your video, not email us your video.

To create a link/URL, we recommend using one of the following options:

  • Upload your video to your website, and copy the link/URL

  • Upload your video to Facebook, set it visible to Public, and copy the link/URL

  • Upload your video to YouTube or Vimeo, and copy the link/URL

  • Create a link using WeTransfer, which is free and easy to use.

We are not expecting high quality video productions (videos shot on phones are fine). We just want to see your passion and project and get a sense of who you are and what you do.

Can I apply for equipment/fees I have already paid for?

No, this grant cannot be used to pay for retrospective costs (money that has already been spent).

How will the funds be paid?

By direct deposit.

Do I need to provide evidence of how I have spent the funds?

Yes, we will need recipients to acquit the grant (send in receipt/s and a brief report), as per usual granting practices.

Will there be future rounds?

Yes, we hope so!
