Basic Grant Tips

The importance of your organisation's website

June 17, 2016

Did you know that one of the first due diligence checks a funding provider may do is check out your organisation’s website?

Your website will help a funding provider confirm that what you’ve written in your application aligns with what you say and do publicly. Areas of particular interest that a funding provider may look at includes:

  • Your strategic mission and objectives

  • Who’s on your team and/or board

  • Past and/or current projects

  • Past and/or current supporters

  • Your fundraising platform

  • Annual reports, including financial statements.*

To help ensure you’re ticking all the right boxes for funding providers and grant assessors, make sure your website is clearly laid out, has up-to-date content and showcases your work.

A current and informative website is an important and effective investment for any organisation seeking grant funding.

*Reports and financials are also publicly available from the ACNC on registered charity organisations. Be sure to file your latest annual report information with the ACNC on time, as funding providers are also likely to check up on your organisation here.
