The Grants Hub uses Pin Payments and Stripe to process its online credit card transactions.
All online credit card transactions performed on this site using Pin Payments are secured payments. Pin Payment’s software, systems and procedures have been assessed and certified to PCI Data Security Standards.
Credit card information is encrypted and stored in a system completely isolated from Pin Payments. At no time is unencrypted card data stored on disk either inside Pin Payments' system or in the card storage system. Internally card information is referenced only through the use of a token. The token is not derived from card information in any way.
All requests to Pin Payments are forced to use HTTPS to ensure encrypted communications.
For more information about Pin Payments and online credit card payments, please visit www.pin.net.au
Stripe has been audited by a PCI-certified auditor, and is certified to PCI Service Provider Level 1. This is the most stringent level of certification available.
Stripe forces HTTPS for all services, including its public website. Stripe regularly audits the details of their implementation: the certificates they serve, the certificate authorities they uses and the ciphers they support. Stripe uses HSTS to ensure browsers interact with Stripe only over HTTPS. Stripe is also on the HSTS preloaded lists for both Chrome and Firefox.
All card numbers are encrypted on disk with AES-256. Decryption keys are stored on separate machines. None of Stripe's internal servers and daemons are able to obtain plaintext card numbers; instead, they can just request that cards be sent to a service provider on a static whitelist. Stripe's infrastructure for storing, decrypting, and transmitting card numbers runs in separate hosting infrastructure, and doesn't share any credentials with Stripe's primary services (API, website, etc.).
