The Australia Post Community Grants Program is a fan favourite at The Grants Hub. Not only is this grant highly popular with our grants community, but our growing relationship with the program delivery team has given us insight into the genuine care they have for supporting locally-led, mental health initiatives.
Australia Post also wants to make the grant application process easy, so you won't find overly complex application forms and processes with these Community Grants. Kudos to Australia Post!
Opening 10am tomorrow, 10 June 2025, and closing Monday 7 July 2025, these grants up to $10,000 will end (or start!) your financial year on a high.
One of the favourite parts of my job is getting to connect with funding providers. Here's what Community Programs Advisor and manager of the grant program, Alice Coombes, had to share about the Australia Post Community Grants Program for 2025.
Jessie
Founder of The Grants Hub
The Australia Post Community Grants program supports local community organisations across Australia who run projects to help people connect and stay mentally well. Each year, not-for-profit community groups can apply to receive a grant of up to $10,000 for local, community-led projects that connect individuals and communities to improve mental health and mental wellbeing.
In the past, we've funded groups like All Stars for Autism, Be Hers, African Women’s Federation of SA, Waves of Wellness and Red Dust Role Models, who are all driving amazing community-led mental health and mental wellbeing projects.
Yes! This year, Australia Post is offering (up to) an additional $250,000 in grants to support disaster-impacted communities across Australia. These funds will be dedicated to projects that enhance mental wellbeing, foster connection, and build resilience within these communities.
With a presence in every community, Australia Post plays a vital role in helping Australians prepare for, respond to, and recover from disasters. Our newly expanded Community Grants program further demonstrates our commitment to disaster recovery, supporting community cohesion and connection.
We know that being connected and being part of a community is vital to maintaining good mental health and wellbeing.
Grants must be spent on activities or expenses with the primary purpose of directly improving connection and mental wellbeing of individuals within a community.
This includes, but is not limited to:
Organisations must be an incorporated not-for-profit to apply. We don't require applicants to have DGR status - as long as you’re an incorporated not-for-profit organisation you can apply.
Not-for-profit social enterprises are eligible if 100% of profits are directed back into the business to support the mission.
